Getting a cleaner for your home is a great way to keep your home organized and tidy. Before your cleaner comes at their scheduled time, though, you may be wondering how to prepare for their arrival.
Follow these tips to make sure you don’t over or under-prepare for your cleaner’s arrival!
1. Don’t be too cleanly!
Remember, you have hired a cleaner! Sometimes clients who are not used to have a cleaner come to their home have the tendency to overclean their home. This leaves the cleaner with very little work to do! Don’t worry about sweeping, vacuuming, or mopping – that’s why the cleaner is coming!
2. Pick up any clutter
It is perfectly okay to straighten up your home before a cleaner’s arrival. Removing any items lying around can slow down a cleaner and lead to them spending more time organizing your home rather than cleaning. This also lowers the chance of items being misplaced!
3. Clarify your key cleaning areas
If there are any areas of your home that you want special attention paid to, let that be known. Leave a note for your cleaner directing them to the key areas that need additional assistance.
4. Store any important documents in a safe area
If there are any important documents out in the open, the cleaner may mistake it as trash. Be sure to label any important documents or store in a safe space.
5. Make sure your cleaner can get in your home
Be sure you communicate with your cleaner about how they will enter your home to clean. Make sure they have access to an entry key and leave any special instructions regarding turning off a home security system.
